Dance
Drums pound steadily
I dance unsteadily,
Trying to mime the perfect
Muses of dance
That surround me.
Feet are blurring,
Arms are swirling perfectly,
And dip and dive and—
I stumble breaking the beat.
Another chord and
The song ends but our hearts keep
Pounding the song.
Feet come together
Arms fall tired to our sides.
In unison we breath
In and out and
Gasp
Finally I know what to do!
(Until the dance starts again)
