Too Cliché
My stubborn hands
Grasped your sleeves
Such naivety
I trailed behind
To give you warmth
What a typical love story
When you broke
I fell with you
And bruised my arms
From the rocks
But now I’m spreading
My wings and leave
This dark pit of ice
I tried to bring the sun
That you never cared to see
And I’m tired
My heart needs to breathe
I’ll ride the next breeze
My wings no longer heavy
A caged bird is setting free
Flying away
For a happiness it can keep
One day I’ll ask you,
If we pass by in the streets
Only two strangers
With distant memories,
Is that still too cliché?
