Raccoons
We are all raccoons.
At night,
Brightened screens take over our minds,
Until we are blinded,
And must close our eyes.
When our alarm clocks sound,
We don’t jump to get up,
But do because we know we have a purpose,
Even if it is to be determined.
We walk around,
With bags under our eyes,
That show,
Our minds could’ve dreamt longer.
Despite what we regret,
We go about each day,
Fresher then the last,
Filled with more mistakes.
When the weekend comes,
Everyone is thrilled to sleep in,
Stay up even later,
And forget about school.
We all try to meet up with friends,
Have a good time,
Laugh to our hearts’ content,
And share everything on Monday.
Every day,
We look for drama,
Or continue creating new ones,
Which make our lives more exciting.
Everything is constantly changing,
Which changes our opinions,
Forcing us to keep a secret,
And wear a happy face.
Each day,
Is another end,
Leaving us the next day,
Another raccoon.
