bubbles.
god’s just a little kid
with a big bottle
of Miracle Bubbles
and a wand
dipping, blowing these
bubbles
all doomed to

pop

at one point or another.
they either drop
too fast, before
he can catch them,
or the biggest ones
pop!
before they’ve even
been launched.
it’s the little ones
that leave quietly
and take their time

gently

drifting

down

everyone leaves a mark,
you know,
but sooner or later
they’ve all evaporated.

The author's comments:
I happened to be blowing bubbles in my room when my thoughts suddenly took a semi-philosophical turn and came up with this metaphor. I liked the idea immediately, if only because it was both lighthearted and yet potentially cynical (in pointing out that a person's life, no matter how long his/her "imprint" lasts, will fade away eventually).

I really, really, really love this. Can anyone tell me though, how long it takes for your piece of writing to be picked for the magazine?

I wasn't a huge fan of the metaphor. But then I red your take on it. And now I'm thinking... I understand it and at the same time not so sure what I think of it. Maybe a little too simple of a take on such a big subject....LIFE. However your very right it was presented lightheartedly and it can be at the same time slightly cynical. True. True.
