Ever worth the second thoughts
Of I’ll be okay—
What if I’m not—

It’ll get better—
But it might not—
I hope so
Because what if
Lying to yourself
Pushes you even deeper into the hurt
And makes the suffering longer
Than any happiness you two once shared

The annoying childish jokes
