Behind the Doors of my Open Past
Half the day still left, still in this breezy moment,
Glancing up at the sky. On this warm summer evening,
Now I need to see the truth
About my self, but I know
That will not be that easy, to
See through myself that quickly.
Nobody can in a snap of a finger.
Past the trees and over
The hill. I come to a stop
And I wait and listen for the
Wail from the wind to give me a sign
I stand,
Not knowing what is left for me to find,
Thinking, I figure it out with countless minutes lost
In the depth of my thinking
I know who I am now
I am the person that never wanted to change,
I wanted to stay me, but got lost behind all of the closed doors
Of my past.
