Thoughts You Left Me With

Alone in my thoughts, like the last green leaf of an oak tree when embraced by fall Fathoming so much while I'm trapped within these walls
Like a man on death row one week from his doomful dying day, I try to escape
Feeling a sharp pain from what I thought to be love, is it at fault or was it an inevitable fate?
My mind sends me whirling, nothing I can control
Everyone told me to stay away but I've never been one to listen to what I'm told
Sitting in a solemn room of silence, but my head is pounding from the noise
Constant memoirs embody my thoughts of the actions that left this void
No clues of what I was in store for, no foreshadowing of what was to come
So soon my heart was shattered, too late did I realize you weren't the one

I love your poem because it totally describes how I feel about falling in love with some who doesn't love you in return. Your poem speaks directly to my heart. Thank you for sharing your work.
