Unaware of the World
Watching from the sidelines,
you won't ever look away.
It's like a car crash so bad,
you watch just to see.
You never stopped to ask,
and you never will.
Take a look at what it's like to be there,
to be stuck,
to be afraid.
A woman waits with baited breath,
her daughter's college application comes in today.
A father cries,
he learns his daughter is no long his baby girl.
A 12 year old girl is told she's fat,
and she finds her mother's pills.
A mother falls apart,
after the call of her daughter's
death.
A best friend kisses a boy,
who was not hers to begin with.
A fire kills a family,
leaving another one to cry.
A troubled child's parent,
doesn't have the time of day.
A man jumps off of a building,
ending not only his life,
but hers.
A new teacher fails his students,
who once made A's.
A girl gives up,
pushing everyone away.
You're ungrateful for every thing,
you will never care.
Yet at the drop of a hat,
death,
makes a non-religious man pray.
