the door is trapped in light
framed, in this dark room
water swallows my tilted face
shoulders tight
shaking hands clenched white
chest burning
he
listened
heard me
and i thought my body would
cry from all it felt, all it didn't feel
there is no more oxygen
in my veins laced with ice
rain pours over raw skin and
fills my mouth when i
open it to breathe
and the stars are painted
on my eyelids, running
down my cheeks
bleeding
with the moon
the light crashes through the door,
but finds its way to my collarbone
in these caressing shadows
that are simultaneously
my knives
it bursts through my heart,
and onto my tongue
with that saving breath,
i shape his words
it has soft edges,
i can't lose this
moment of clarity
he says
i doesn't
want me lost.
i am defined by round
edges.

lol thanks. speaking of good, you're writing is great. if you have a facebook, you should join Awesome Teen Inkers! A penpal and I started it about a half year ago and it's got over 100 ppl now. it's a chance to share work more often, and get more feedback!

thanks! last year, on the mock exam I passed it just barely with a three, and then again for the real test with a three, and I got a four on this year's mock exam! Plus we had a grant that offered us VISA's for passing the test :) We were the last year for that though! ;) Good luck to you too!

good luck at passing your ap test. i failed it with a two, but i passed ap us history somehow last year. :)

I'm taking AP Lit now actually. We're halfway through the class, so perhaps I'll begin to see that. Thanks for the compliment!

true, true, but, if you had taken AP literature, (i dont know if you had or not) you would understand how without ambiguity that whole class wouldnt function. some of historie's best poems use it to appeal to a wide selection of readers and so people will discuss about their work. its 100% your choice to what you do with your poems, but as i said before. i love them just the way they are.

yes, you're right about this one. It is very undefined. Partly because it comes from the deepest parts of me, the parts that I never do divulge. Basically, it's about how I'm in the bathroom upstairs in my house, in the dark, and behind the locked door, I divulge the worst parts of me, and yet, when I want to get rid of it all, forever, there is the voice of a very close friend of mine, who says that he doesn't want to lose me. That's what helps keep me sane most nights, anyway. Glad you took the time to read past these harsh angles in my writing! It definitely needs revision, this one...

i read your poem "good friends are like stars" and it set a warm glow that was soon leached away as i read this. you have real skill in writing. i love they way you use imagery and emotions. and the ending, what was happyness? even in the pouring rain, you are loved? i was a bit confused, but non the less, it stirred much inside me.
