Quickly it creeps and crawls
Closing in

Not encompassing
But there, always there

It’s laced into our emotions

And how we feel
Creating the hideous
The surreal

It oozes out with your words

Of pain
Emerging with a roar in
Anger
Suppressed when the wailing of the
Baby is shrill
Whimpering in the corner when words of others pierce, scorch, tear

This monster slithers and
Seduces our hearts
Whispering in the silence

Phrases of violence

Weaving through our weaknesses
He stabs
Exposing our hopes and dreams
He jabs
Rendering us paralyzed
As he rips away our fake disguise

We fight back
Punching him
Screaming
Running away from
Trying to push down this constant
Mindless
Attack

And now he’s ashamed
Crushed with the blame
Of things gone wrong

Burning, blood-red, tears
Drip down his face
Quickly he tries to hide them
But don’t

Angels and Demons don’t exist
Good and evil doesn’t exist
