Perched upon a tree,
feathers spread across her breast,
she sings in undertone.
I could never get a taste
of her fainted words,
but when her song did halt,
stolen by the morning mist,
there was
not a feather left.

Loved ones will soon disappear like a mysterious bird on a foggy morning. (Just my opinion)

The best kind of poetry, in my opinion, is the kind that takes a simple moment in time and makes it inspiring. You have done that here. *takes off cat ears in respect*

“Maybe you can afford to wait. Maybe for you there's a tomorrow. Maybe for you there's one thousand tomorrows, or three thousand, or ten, so much time you can bathe in it, roll around it, let it slide like coins through you fingers. So much time you can waste it.
But for some of us there's only today. And the truth is, you never really know.”
― Lauren Oliver, Before I Fall

Wow...The last line left a strong emotional impact. This is wonderful, absolutely beautiful, yet short and simple. Great job!

Expect to have hope rekindled, expect your prayers to be answered in wondrous ways! The dry seasons in life do not last, the spring rains will come again.

The beauty of this poem is undescribable for me. Its so short, but it captured the gist  so very delicately and precisely with a fascinating imagery. Love it! Definitely one the most beautiful poems.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world."

I really love how short and simple this poem was and yet it convayed so much meaning and emotion. It was great. I would say though that instead of "words" put "psalm" or another word to do with music. You said that the bird sings, so I would put a word more musical. Other than that it is great.
