How Could You?
I’m afraid to love you.
I’m afraid of being loved by you.
Because, you probably only love
The version of me I’ve spun for you.
Unless you’ve seen me break down,
Crying in the middle of the street,
Unless you’ve been on the other end
Of my suicidal text messages,
Unless you know my deep dark secrets,
I won’t believe you.
And if you have seen all those things,
And you know all my secrets,
Then you must be lying.
Because how could you love a girl with scars on her wrist?
How could you love a girl who needs pills to be okay?
How could you love a girl who tried to kill herself?
How could you love a girl with all these problems?
Boys never love sad girls.
