just another I AM poem
December 16, 2013
I am alone and desperate
I wonder how long I will last
I hear a sobbing beat and a wailing melody
I see the hidden sorrows in their eyes
I want to escape
I am barely surviving
I pretend that I am not human
I feel tired
I touch the cold hard ground
I worry about the wrong things
I cry inside
I am trying
I understand weakness
I say what I am told to say
I dream of love
I try to stay alive
I hope this will end soon
I am alone and desperate
