if you want something you have never had, you must do something that you have never done

They’re coming

Stepping in her room
Going to bed
She stops cold in her track
There it is again
She can feel them watching
Staring her down
Her heart races
She tells herself
Go to sleep
You’re tired
It’s only your imagination
Unable to sleep
Trapped in her thoughts
She lies awake
Tears streaming down her face
The house is silent
Not a sound is heard
Everyone is sound asleep
Dreaming at ease
With covers and pillows
She drowns out her sobs
So the night remains silent
So peaceful it seems
She lies awake waiting
Knowing what is to come
The night seems quiet, dark and still
Soon it will happen
They will appear
Closing her eyes ever so tightly
She can still see their beady eyes
Black glossy pits
Staring her down
She lies awake
Dreading the night
That builds so frightening
She shivers as she hears the creaking
The creaking of closet door
They're coming
She knows it
Here they come
Slinking through the darkness
Making their way towards her
There she lies still as can be
Waiting for them
Under the covers she pleads
Pleads for them to leave her alone
She can hear them whispering
Calling her name
Taunting her
Slinking through the darkness
Making their way closer
They’re coming for her
Sweat beads down her forehead
She can feel their presence
A cold chill runs down her spine
She can bear it no longer
Like a thunder clap
The silent night is interrupted
A bloody murder cry
Screeched through the silence
A cry for help
Everyone in the house is awakened
She hears foots steps
Through the cracked door
Beams a light
Into the dark they dash
Running away
Lightning fast
In comes her mother
Near and in sight
Coming to save her
From the demons of the night
Away they went
Slithering back into hiding
Back to wait for yet another night
She turns to her mother
Hugs her tight
Looks at her closet
To a fearsome sight
As she leaves the room
Turning back once again
Watching her escape her fright
Are the beady black hateful eyes
Glossy and evil
Waiting in the dark
For yet another night.

I can relate. the demons of the night are very scary, just as scary as the demons of the unknown....

Maybe the Journey isn't so much about becoming anything but unbecoming everything that isn't really you

This was great! I love the suspence you draw up, it's great! I had only one sugestion, you seem to repeate lines a coule of times, for example: "Slinking through the darkness, Makeing their way closer, They're coming for her" Those three lines say the same thing, I would keep the coming for her since it's the reapeted phrase from the whole thing, but either space out the other two line from this spot, or just say one. Other than this, this was a great poem, I love it!

I'm fine. I just feel like I'm shattered into hundred of little shards of glass and I'm going to hurt everybody who loves me.

Amazing point of view! Had my heart pounding! Thx Kepp writing!
