Wish Upon a Star
Tell me when I wished on a star
Tell me what I did when I was young
Tell me when I knew and cared not
When I believed I could possess the ever sky
Tell me when I believed the stories
Each one that glimmered and shone in magic
A flitting image spoke many words,
Words that whispered what I hear no more
Tell me when I heard the bell
When I rode the train on Christmas Eve,
And met the ghost and the giver of gifts
When the charm was real, when the dream was real
Tell me when I felt the magic
When I waited at my bed and watched the clock
Wishing that my eleventh birthday
Would bring my own Hagrid and a wand to keep
Tell me when I believed something more to this world
When I believed in beyond the covered wardrobe
When I heard the dream, the train, the bell
When I knew something beyond what my parents saw
Something I would sit at my window for
And wish upon a star
