The Horde
Banners hit the wind with mighty racing colors,
Drums hit the ears of the city to fall,
Dust curled and anticipated,
The mighty horde was on it's way.
They hid behind their feeble walls,
Not daring to make a sound,
What had they done to deserve this?
The mighty horde was on it's way.
Armed to the teeth,
Drunk on certain victory,
Shouts of battle ready-men,
The mighty horde was on it's way.
They said goodbye to wives and sweethearts,
They stood trembling, waiting,
They knew that death walked,
The mighty horde was on it's way.
The battle took place,
On a fair summer's even'
Beneath the dying sun and blood red moon,
The mighty horde was on it's way.
Leaving none alive,
Blood and bones in their wake,
Screams of dying, cries of mercy,
The mighty horde was on it's way.
And so they left,
To sweep over land and see,
The ghosts to tell their tale,
The mighty horde was on it's way.
