Seven
It's supposed to take seven minutes
 To fall asleep at night
So I toss and turn in my sheets
Counting my breaths in sets of seven
Daydreaming before the real dreams come
Wondering if it all fits into seven
 It never does.

See, I think the problem is my thinking of you
 In units of seven
The last seven times I saw your eyes
Seven times you made me laugh
Seven times your voice made my heart ache

One day you saw me sketching
 Asked for a hand-drawn portrait
But we would never sit still
 We would never stop smiling
 Seven.

You said that when you think of space
You think of me, the oblivion of my thoughts
I get lost up in my head, so do you
We will help each other find a way home
 Fourteen.

We watch the days pass by together
I am so afraid that maybe you might not
Want to anymore, want me anymore
I feel colder. I am lost. I am scared.
 Twenty one.

 My smile lights up yours
I want to run through fields of
Cattails and spin in circles to feel
Dizzy and in love, I want you
 To join me
 Thirty five.

You keep me up all night
 Tossing, turning, hoping
For seven nights I might sleep on time
 Without the trouble of you
 Taking it all
