The Search
We are all searching
We don’t know what it is, but we can’t stop looking for it
We couldn’t if we tried
We’ll seek every corner of the Earth to find it
For we are all lost in our own way
It’s easy to lose the path
But the search guides us back
Like a lantern in the darkness
It pulls us towards the unknown
Our hearts beat for the uncovering of the midnight ocean
Our blood runs with the tides
We are all searching
For something is missing
We say we are at peace
Yet we are not peaceful
We say we are at rest
Yet we look restlessly
We are all explorers
The world we know is not enough
Our bodies and minds yearn for the edge
For the pulse
For the hunt
For the hidden and obscured
We will all search
None of us will find it
We will not know until the bell tolls
It can only be found as life unfolds
As our eyes close
Where the sun is endless
And the search is relentless
We will explore
Until we are no more
This is our destiny
This is the search
