catching me
I remember walking down a gravel road
Holding you hand with a big smile
I remember teasing you
You smiling back at me
I remember taking a leap of faith into your arms
You promised you would always be there to catch me
For a while you stayed true to that promise
But then i fell
And you weren't there to catch me
I broke
I shattered into pieces
I covered up the blood and hid the bruises
You caught me a few more times
But you never seemed to see how broken i was
You had stopped looking and soon enough you didn't catch me
Here I am now and I haven't been caught
You finally look again and you can see
You got mad
Yelled that i didn't let you catch me
I can only say I'm sorry now.
Sorry that I didn't ask
Sorry that you stopped looking
Sorry that the next time i fall,
I won't be getting up again.
