For the Sun
Stretching for the light;
Aching for the dawn;
Laying in the sunshine
With my back against the lawn
The fear that's from the darkness
And the pain of the shadows
They all fade into memory
With each brand new tomorrow
With the light there comes the reason,
The sanity, and smarts
Say goodbye to all the feelings
That will only break your heart.
The dark is like a drug
I feel a little crazy
I think I must admit
That I have caught the bug.
So I write my feelings down
Forgetting who may see
And force away the thoughts
That threaten to consume me.
