Where do you find yourself
In a world full of lost souls?
Hidden between the pages
Of that worn biology textbook
Shoved in a locker and forgotten
Only to be dragged out in a crisis
Days ticking by before finals

Or in the squeak of sneakers
Sticking to a freshly waxed gym
The hard rubber of the ball
Leaving your fingertips to
Swish

Maybe it's the rising synchrony
Of voices echoing in the room
Bouncing from wall to wall
Notes quavering on a drawn out breath
They dance across the scale

But if it's not
Where do I turn
How can I stumble upon myself
Someone tell me now
Because I'm lost
