All the Good, All the Bad
Sitting on the shore;
 All alone.
 Hearing the waves,
but not caring about the sound.
 Seeing the sky,
but not caring about the clouds.
 Swimming through the water,
but not caring about the salt
 that stings my eyes.
 Sitting in the sand,
but not caring about the sun
that burns my shoulders and my back.
I only care about the good things.
 The beauty of the ocean.
 The color of the sky.
 The coolness of the water.
 The warmth of the sun.
 Why should I care
 About something that's simply noise?
 About potential rain?
 About burning, stinging, or pain?
 There's no reason to,
 because all it will do
 is make me sink
 to the ocean floor.
