Freedom, honesty, loyalty
These are all good virtues to live by,
But none of these are essential,
None of these come from within,
From the very nature of our mortality,
From the very essence of our being,
Peace...

It come in many ways, and lasts a lifetime;
For once found, It cannot be lost.
It becomes a part of you,
But can also consume you.


Though it has many forms,
And comes in many ways
For some peace is not easily found...
For others, it is inborn...
For me, it is everywhere.

I find it in nature,
Within the tall green trees,
Within the freshly blooming flowers,
Within the animals, the wildlife

I find peace in the home,
Here, in this writing,
Within the many books I own,
Within the materials I use.

Finally I find it within you,
Within the lost,
I find it within the forgotten,
Within the soldiers,
I find it within
Each and every one of us,
I find it,
within me.
