Like the Work of Michelangelo
The warm sun beats on our backs
The hill seemed never ending as we made our trek
But when you got to the top it was beautiful
Like the work of Michelangelo in the Sistine
The view from the top left you breathless
A timeless scene of beauty and awe
Beyond that there is the place you are standing
The rocky ground makes you feel unsteady
But the hills and valleys make you feel loved
Like the Pieta it moves you to tears
This place is where so many are buried
In this place families were put to rest
With the swiftness of creating man
Those men can be taken away
From the Creation of Adam to the death of man
The beauty of an ancient city
Will forever stand the test of time
As the sun shines on its beauty everyday
