I'm Sorry

I'm sorry I just sat and watched
as though nothing was wrong,
even though I saw your tears
and the hurt grappling your smile.
You'd shake it off
too quickly,
because it stayed
in your eyes.
Those eyes that
used to sparkle
so brightly,
like drops
of sunlight.
I think that's
what I'll miss
most.
