Morning Grind
I hear my alarm start play
Quite a few hours before I want it to
I know I have to get out of bed and start my day
But gosh, that’s just so hard to do
My eyes feel glued shut
My throat feels raw
I wish I could quit school but,
I know that’s against the law
I should really get out of bed
But it feels so warm
You could call me a walking dead
As I put on my uniform
All day I sit here and think:
“When can I go to bed again?’
I want to wrapped up in my fuzzy blanket that’s pink
And sleep for as long as I can
So as you may have figured out,
Waking up is not my favorite
So if given the chance to sleep in, no doubt
Just savor it.
