Moonlight Flowers
The silver flowers opened
 Under the full moon
 Reaching, breathing, exalting
 Never withering
 As the night rolled on
 Like waves against the sand
 They danced, rising, falling
 Moonlight touched their petals
 Glowing and alive they were
 Trembling from thought
 Night air feeding their existence
But as the moon began to wane
They shrank back into their dens
 Of silvery, silky, sweetness
 Shrouding their essence
 Into darkness they returned
 As morning yawned
The sun’s rays kissed the land
 And the yellow flowers opened
