I had a rock garden. Last week, three of them died. -Richard Diran

Hello
My name is quiet
I have no ears
No mouth
And no worries.
I also posses nary a single companion.
I am nothing.
But to some souls.
I am everything.
I'm their tranquility
And I am their god.
Who might you be, young traveller?
Let me see,
Young, and obviously alone.
Otherwise I wouldn't be here
For you silly humans chase me away.
Why are you sad, traveller?
Do you not enjoy my company?
Are my stories not entertaining for you?
I see.
You don't understand me.
Those ears of yours cannot listen to silence.
Oh, well.
At least I tried.
And now we can be lonely together.
Both blissfully oblivious of each others company.
All because you and I are different.
Until stilled by the chill of death
You will always be shielded from me by a wall of your Noise.
Just like I am hidden in my Silence.
Goodnight, silly human.
I will not see you again for many years.
But now I must go
For more Noise is coming.
And my shadows will be chased away
By the rising sun.

I found this poem in an old notebook of mine, and I found it good enough to share. I wrote this one sometime in Elementary school, but it isn't all that bad. I hope you enjoy it's character and tranquility!
