Life is a roller coaster ridden for the first time
With ups and downs and twists and turns
You never know what is up ahead
When things get too rough or scary
You can't just jump off to avoid
Not willing to see it through to the end
'Cause when you jump that will be the place
The joyous place
Where the ride will turn and smooth out
Life is not a place to go and jump off
It is a ride meant to be seen through 'till the end
So don't go jumping
When things become uncertain
Just see it through
Until the bitter-sweet end

The author's comments:
I had a friend who told me she was close to committing suicide over a school break. One night after I dreamed I was witnessing several suicides and the words popped into my head and so I wrote them.

I love this poem, I think it's really true that we can't jump off at any time, because when we jump off that's when the path evens out.
