You and Me
We are different
In no ways the same
I know that you cannot be changed
I cannot be changed either
You are long hours in the gym
And I am every waking moment in the barn
You say your sport is the same as mine but I know you think yours is better
I know you think riding is just a hobby
I have no one like me
And that is ok
You think I need to be like you
So you try to change me
And make me act different
But I will never change
Your sport means the world to you
Mine is the only thing I have
It is the only thing that matters
You don’t understand me
You are with friends for as long as you can
I am get this person away from me
You are cartwheels and handstands
But I am long trails at sunset
You joke and act like dangerous things are nothing
I feel like I am the only one who cares about my horses
You say we are best friends
Yet we have nothing in common
You are beaches and sunshine
I am at the homestead and deep within the woods
If I got to choose I would pick my horses
Not you
Don’t take it the wrong way
This is who I am
This is who I will always be
Do not try to change me
Fore I cannot be changed
