Never the Same
The sun will rise and sail through the sky
Day after day, light fills darkness

Rocks will erode and rivers will widen
While leaves will change from emerald to jade

On serene days the mist will swirl
And early birds will fly and chirp

Animals will hunt and animals will die
But trees will grow from their bodies

 Listen
 Oh, what a resounding melody
The rhythmic pulse of nature is so steady
But life cannot stay this way
Nor will it stay this way…

The moon will rise and sail through the sky
Night after night, darkness fills light

The stars will shine and clouds will conceal
But all it takes it one spark
Among the dancing shadows one spark
One spark, one flash, one bolt
And the whole forest will be ablaze

Critters will scurry and plants will crumble
But the fiery tongues will not subside

Eternal flames will engulf all being
Smothering the heart of nature itself
 Into ashes, ashes, ashes…
 Everything will be lost

Yet after cooling rains hope may reside
Through death and decay hope may reside
After time and healing hope may reside

But nature’s heart will always be damaged
And it will never be the same
 Never the same
