“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” ~Maya Angelou

She wonders at the silent folk
who walk with heads down, ignoring, not caring
She soaks in the sights, marveling
But others do not see her joy
they are only focused on themselves
if they looked up
they would see
what she sees
beauty
peace
love
but they only focus on themselves,
i am late for work
i am in a hurry
get out of my way
yelling at traffic,
not seeing
not caring
if they looked up
they would
see
what she sees
but they keep their heads down
scared to open up
not seeing
not caring
ignoring

I love this poem! The message is deep, true, and completely relative to society. I love the part where you talk about what she sees and what the other people think. You're a great writer! Never stop writing truth like this! XD

No, you're fine! Yes, after I submitted this piece I noticed I forgot to capitalize...so sorry! It bugs me too! Anyways, it's a freeverse poem, which not all freeverse make complete sentences, at least not the ones in my poem book. A lot of those were about four words, or not full sentences, so I was thinking that if that kind of poem is good enough to make it in a poem book, I should try one...thank you, anyways. And yes, I did purposefully repeat, I suppose it does make it slightly repetative

I like the meaning behind this, but some bits don't quite make sense as a sentence and grammar and capital letters really annoy me in this piece. It gets a bit repetitive and stunted at times, but I don't think this detracts from the message and the beauty of this poem :) sorry if i seem mean

I know, we're surrounded by so much, and yet so many people waste their life away, never enjoying what we have here on earth! :(

I seriously love this SO much. I feel the exact same way about life: we waste every second trying to prepare for another.
