Why would I open my eyes
if I can keep them locked
I want a distant reality
one where my dreams are happenings
and my life is a mere nightmare
in which I can wake up from
I want to pretend I’m okay
and in my mind I am
I am already dead in my dreams
to make living
feel more alive.
