Behind the Red Curtain
There is a wild fire
beneath the composure of
this painted face-
because things seemed to spiral too
far out of control after the
dead things became coming back.
And she fears that this new loss-
this passion no one could have known was there-
is much more dangerous.
You see-
dying alive is more predictable,
than waking for the first time,
and this throbbing
could almost hurt worse.
