I Am A Swing
I am a swing
I rock back and forth from parent to parent
 I am a swing
But I am not so transparent
 I rust and I erode
I am left out in the rain
I’ve held the weight of many
And still I hide my pain
 I am pushed and pulled
By the very people I love
Forced to choose what I cannot
And told that it isn’t enough
 As people are walking by
 Many find rest in me
But it’s hard not to let them fall
When all people do is leave
 So I finally give up
 I finally have crashed
Into the dirt where I belong
 Only to be trashed
And now I no longer care
 Whether or not I belong
Because when I pretended I did
They told me I was wrong
 I am a swing
