Fireplaces remind of the great feeling of coming inside from playing in the snow. Taking off your boots and drying them by the fire. Making a cup of hot cocoa, laying down and just relaxing. That time of the year when it is almost Christmas and you are gathered around with your friends and family. The smoky smell reminds me of when we have off of winter break. The sound of the flames as they arise from the gas reminds me of the great cooking. Feeling the warmness even through your favorite wool sweater. I can taste the wood ashes on my tongue.
