Here is My Voice
I have a voice
It's merely hiding
Tucked behind fear
Of shaming myself
But it's your penetration
So awfully curt
That pushes my words
To the back of my throat.
I have a voice
Roaring and firm
That sits patiently
Waiting to be heard
But your ears aren't open
To take in my pain
And all that I've seen
For I'll never be the same.
I have a voice
Ringing all alone
Never reaching surface
Never being known
But I'm still speaking
Even if not aloud
Running through the verses
Perfecting the sounds.
I have a voice
Too grand to ignore
If you had only listened
All those times before
But my voice is weakening
From all those empty chords
If you ever want to hear me
I've written down my words.
