Tonight
Last night
I was brave
I had the courage to move mountains
And spill words
That so often cling to the walls of my throat
Tonight
I am small
I am the voice too afraid to speak
I am a music box broken
With no melody to sing
I’m sitting here
Looking at all these pieces of me
Scattered
Like shattered glass
At my feet
It’s making me bleed
And the pain
Well it’s there
And it’s stronger than me
I once was a tsunami amongst the waves
I once was ablaze amongst mere dimmers
But now
I am a shadow of myself
And I’m picking up these pieces
One by one
But some have gone missing
The bleeding
It’s there
It’s killing
