Sea of Uncertainty
Even though you may see darkness sprouting from
every vein in your body,
I swear to God I see every speck of goddamn light
glowing from every freckle that lines your skin.
I don't think you realize your worth and
I don't think you realize the lighthouse you are to others
in a sea of uncertainty.
A scarred and battered heart hasn't stopped the life in you
and I still see the beauty in every mutter and shrug that
you give off on your off days.
Let your heart check off every dream and
scribble out every fear.
You're gonna go far, kid.
The world doesn't stop for anyone, but God, I'd like to believe that
the world stopped when you came into my life.
