Stage Fright
I'm on stage
Thinking I can do this
I can do anything I want
Because I believe in myself
I can sing in front of people
Just like I’ve always believed
Eyes open wide
Staring into the crowd
I can’t do this
I can’t open my mouth and let myself go
Let myself sing
Let myself be heard
Let the melody from inside me be heard
I am afraid to go on
Becoming dizzier spinning faster
Inside my head
Eyes open
I am sitting in the audience watching the stage
No longer am I up there
For people to see
For people to judge me
To hear the voice I know I have
A voice that can sing the melody
I have made the right choice
In singing here
In the audience
Not letting myself feel the embarrassment
Of messing up
I made the right choice in not letting
Myself sing to the world
Sing as I’ve always wanted
Because I am afraid
Ive made the right choice
Right?
