Where I'm From
I’m from
a coasty beach on the eastern wing,
and my dad knew I couldn’t remember a thing,
so on that day his Henry stayed gained.
I’m from
a state with a capital O,
with my dad who loved me so,
and him calling me roach.
I’m from
construction work and play,
with my dad I spent night and day,
looking like him and acting the same.
I’m from
an emotionally vigorous soul,
except when my dad left me the role,
to give up not and to be true.
I’m from
being my own man,
me doing the best I can,
refusing that I will change.
I’m from
late nights without rest,
putting myself to the test,
with mornings I have early starts.
I’m from
damaging mental stress,
with my thinking creating a mess,
writing lyrics of what I can’t stand.
I’m from
a life of strenuous love and excruciating pain,
me trying everyday to stay sane,
and the best I do intend.
