Middle of June
Whispers deafen the ears
Listeners can hardly bear
Quieter than the cicadas chirp
Louder than silent autumn leaves falling
Kids running on the path, calling
Where the daffodils bloom
Middle of June
Whispers are heard but not understood
Teachers are untaught
The rains fall, presents brought
When the daffodils bloom
It's the middle of June
And there are whispers, whispers
