A broken heart bleeds memories
Of lovers I can count on one hand
But, I’m still branded a s***
Tears that fall like diamonds on lipstick stained ties
A shade of red foreign to me, Infidelity No. 2
I came to you on the wings of a whisper
I gave you an innocence I will never regain

I loved you like her perfume loved your skin
She lusted for you
With the body of an hourglass
The mind of a street dancer
And the allure of a cougar

I hate you like her skinned knees and drunken eyes
Like your late night rendezvous’ cloaked in white power
And the stench of brandy that fills the club
I hate you like rolled dollar bills, sliver spoons
And pink thongs in your pockets
I can see her reach for you like a poor motherless child

I still find her bobbie pins on my floor
Glistening like shards of glass forever imbedded in my heart
I wrap them in her silk panties,
That so mysteriously appeared at the bottom of my hamper
And drop them at your door
I can’t bare to stare at them any longer,
I can hear her moans fill the room as they shine
It makes me ill to think her body replaced mine
