Faces.
Faces
of those who have sailed through my past with me still remain.
I
have thrown some of them overboard, and rescued some from the darkest
depths of menacing waters. They
Don’t
necessarily know why I rescued them, and some do not even
Recognize
that it was me that kept them from tumbling to the dangerous waters that
Surround
their fate; and I’m not sure if it is
Me
that has shifted their destiny from spiralling down the drain.

My recent piece Faces pulled inspiration from a piece I had studied on Teenink.com by Z. Namu, entitled Dear Mom. This poem is very different from others that I have written in the past. I have recently started another Ellen Hopkins book that I started to read a while back but was not very fond of it, so I am giving it another shot, and as you can see my writing has varied.
