My favorite moment
is when I see the contrast of your skin
against the crumpled white sheets
after waking from dreams about your lips
on mine
and seeing your eyes open
in slow motion
with the sleepy morning sun
pouring in through the blinds behind you
and making me feel like I just woke up
in heaven
and I know you feel it too
because your lips
curl at the edges
and I’m reminded of my dream
and I can’t help but want to relive it again
in amongst these white sheets
that feel like
home
