Sing for me when I'm gone
I never knew I was looking for love until I found you,
you sparked warmth in my heart and hope in my soul.
Every minute I spend with you, I find myself.
I learn things about myself I never knew,
things you bring out in me.
You found me when I didn’t know I was lost.
You make me a better person,
and accepted me when I wasn’t.
You took a broken soul and mended it with each kiss,
fixed it with your love.
Being without you is like forgetting the words to my favorite song,
the one I sang over and over,
sometimes I just have to sing with the confidence that the words will come back to me.
And when I’m gone, I hope you sing,
that you believe I’ll come back to you,
that in my absence, you’ll grow in love.
That you won’t mourn my me,
but rejoice in the memories of the fall we spent in each other’s heart,
with each fallen leaf we grew closer.
That you flourish with life and find love again.
I hope she loves you with complexity and radiance of the star lit sky,
that her love for you is more beautiful than the Milky Way,
and reaches deeper than the darkest cavern in the ocean.
I hope she loves you as much as I do,
that she can’t stop loving you,
even in death.
And when your heart aches for me and the loneliness lingers in the shadows,
I hope you sing for me.
