Through the Mud
As I slowly walk
through the thick mud
of a heavy November rain
a book in my hand,
Alice in Chains playing
loudly through the thick pines and oaks
The Rain
rocked me to my core
like thorns on a bright red rose
thoughts racing
racing through my head
the words she said
kept coming up
"Flowers only appear on the alter
for two reason and
for two reasons only"
