The Real Thing
See, I seek in your tone...
As you speak I hope to find in time you are worth the risk.
More than a night, more than a kiss.
I hope to act in bliss and never be harmed.
I hope to hear a promise that has no charm in persuasion.
I'll discard all temptation to know that it was real.
  Steal my breath become insurmountable
Seal my words and hold me accountable.
I implore, be real!... Just be real.
  And I'll be the rest...
Like the moment before the test I'll make you sweat.
Like the inspiration to be your very best
I will rest on words of encouragement.
I'll be a letter titled "Endearment"
and you'll be the alphabet or instrument
I use to commit ink to paper.
And like a wrong I want to correct
  I write.
