Calm in Chaos
Screams are heard from miles away.
The destruction is known everywhere.
A map of Louisiana shows a big white cloud covering the state.
But, it is calm.
It is the eye of the storm.
It is quiet, peaceful.
There is no wind. No rain. No terror.
No one is fearful.
It almost appears to be blue sky, with the sun
Shining bright.
The hurricane will soon be named, Katrina.
Called the worst storm in American history.
It’s not, though.
The streets show damage, but the power of Mother Nature,
Is gone.
It will change soon.
The storm will travel back outward and disappear.
Residents will gain PTSD.
But I won’t.
It is calm. Quiet. Peaceful.
It is the eye of the storm.
