Cursed Man
The cars crawled along the street below
He watch them carefully
Studying their patterns
He sat down on the ledge
Never thinking how close he was
The reds and oranges and yellows flashed below
Did anybody ever think about what he could see?
Did they know it doesn’t matter?
No, of course no one did
He was the only one
The only one who knew it didn’t matter
The only one who didn’t care if it ended
He moved closer to the edge
His eyes, black as the sky
Reflected the scene below
There were sirens now
Wailing their terrible calls
Calls to stop
He didn’t hear them
People were yelling now, some even pointing
Bright lights flashed across the rooftops
He didn’t see them
The door to the roof burst open
He pushed off
The cursed man is the one who knows all
The gifted man is the one who knows nothing
